🛠️ What Is a Building Pad, Exactly?:

A building pad is the foundation-level area of ground that’s cleared, leveled, and compacted to support your build. It’s what your foundation rests on.

If it’s not done right, it can lead to:

📐 How We Build It Right:

At Pennington, we don’t treat pad work like just another dirt job. Here's our step-by-step process:

1. Site Evaluation-

We assess your land’s slope, soil type, drainage patterns, and elevation to determine the optimal pad location and dimensions.

2. Land Clearing-

We remove trees, roots, brush, and topsoil. Why? Because organic matter breaks down over time — and that leads to sinking.

3. Grading & Shaping-

We rough grade the area, cutting and filling as needed to create a level surface. We also ensure the pad is elevated above surrounding ground to protect from flooding.

4. Compaction-

We compact the subgrade using proper equipment — not just driving over it — to prevent settling. If needed, we bring in select fill or crushed stone for added stability.
