You’ve called Pennington Construction & Land Solutions — great first step! Whether you’re prepping raw land, planning a home build, or just tired of drainage issues, the next step is simple but important: the site visit.
This first walk-through sets the tone for your entire project. It’s where we listen, evaluate your goals, and give you professional guidance based on real experience. To help you get the most out of your visit, here’s what to expect and how to prepare.
📍 What Happens During a Site Visit?:
Here’s what we typically cover during an initial walk-through:
✅ Property Walkthrough-
We walk your land together, point out key areas (high spots, drainage paths, trees, slopes), and identify obstacles that may affect the work.
✅ Service Evaluation-
We’ll talk through the services you’re asking about — land clearing, grading, septic, driveway, etc. — and offer suggestions based on what we see on-site.
✅ Access Points & Equipment Planning-
We’ll assess how our equipment can reach the site, and whether any temporary clearing, culverts, or grading may be needed for trucks and machines.
✅ Elevation & Drainage Review-
Expect us to eyeball slopes and water flow. If needed, we may recommend grading adjustments or culverts to protect future foundations and driveways.
✅ Timeline & Budget-
Once we understand the scope, we’ll give you a realistic idea of when we can get started, how long the work may take, and what the general cost will be.
📝 What You Should Bring (or Be Ready to Discuss):
To help us help you, come prepared with:
Your goals: What are you planning to build or fix?
Any sketches or drawings: Even a hand-drawn layout helps.
Survey or plat map (if available: Especially helpful for new builds
Permits, perc test results, or restrictions (if applicable)
Access to the property: Make sure gates are unlocked or keys are available
If you don’t have all this — no worries! We’ll help figure it out with you.
🤝 Why This Visit Matters:
Too many people waste time and money by skipping this step or hiring contractors who “just show up and start pushing dirt.” That’s not us.
We build relationships before we build projects — and that starts with showing up, walking the land with you, and turning dirt into dreams the right way.
